In all schools year 7 was seen as a year in which to establish ways of working and mathematical habits of mind. There were three models:

Year 7 Year 8 Year 9
Ways of working & habits of mind Progress towards SATs Exploratory work consolidating key ideas
Ways of working & habits of mind Progress towards SATs and GCSE
Ways of working and habits of mind (prescriptive scheme of work) Applying ways of working Drawing ways of working together with content
