What teachers said about the teams: summary
- most valued working as a team to develop materials, ideas and support but a few teachers felt that they were being told how to teach, and were being asked to change to a uniform style.
- some did not feel or act like members of a team; one teacher claimed that changes had not been agreed at meetings
- two teachers reported that they felt that everyone's past experience was valued and everyone was able to contribute to the curriculum but one teacher said "The voices of most experienced teachers are not always heard at meetings"
- one teacher said her past experience led her to reject the philosophy and ideals of the rest of her team; in two schools teachers reported to researchers that not everyone was honest at meetings 'there is subtle disunity'; 'I am not the only one who thinks that...'
