|---|---|---|
| Imagine you are holding a pen in a mathematics lesson and you are asked to write. What would it be you are writing? |
|
Most students reported common kinds of writing. We also observed students competing worksheets which were designed to scaffold conceptual thinking, but we did not expect students to be able to say anything about this. Only one student reported making up questions although this was an activity that had been observed several times in the lessons observed by the researchers. |
