Adam
A Dealing with things that are easy to misinterpret
In this excerpt Adam uses student feedback from a timeline task to work publicly on a common misreading of time, comparing time to the decimal system. He gets most of the information he needs from the students, and then offers a range of contrasting examples for students to think about. This appears to be a side-issue from the main timeline task, but Adam is clearly prepared for it and spends considerable time on it. Note also that the timeline uses their own life experience - they clean the mug after putting the kettle on rather than assume the presence of a clean mug - the task has been developed in full discussion about students' own experience.
